Christmas food
When we all grow older, our taste changes and things what we used to think most exiting, no longer feel so important. As kids the present were the most important part of the christmas, nothing else mattered. But today I most eagerly wait for the food, to taste and indulge myself with all the heavenly dishes.
This year, rather than cooking all christmas foods by myself, I plan to go and buy some Finnish foods from Finnish church. I also plan to make some new dishes, Lasagne is Italian christmas food I heard, so I just made some. Lasagne is one of my all time favorite. But christmas is not a christmas without these foods: Swede casserole, Carrot casserole and Rosolli(Herring, carrot, potatoes, pickled cucumber, egg, apple). There's many other foods too, but these are must.
Back to the past
Have you ever wondered how people spend their time in the old times? Did they just sit in the front of a fire place, told stories or singed songs of heroes and love. I think modern day person would not be able to cope the boredom of old times. Could I?
I love to read books and listen stories, but I can not sing thou! I have allways liked hiking and the country site. It is really nice stay in my grandparents country house and just stare the sky at night, to feel the peacefullness and our meaningless presence in the universe. If you have never been outside of the big city, you cannot know what I'm talking about.
TV haven't been part of my life for years, sure I like to watch, but I don't miss it. All high-tech stuff is interesting I admit, but not necessary. Moving to the wilderness with no modern world electronic devices would not be impossible for me. But I do like my hot shower in the morning, so lets just keep the caveman inside for a while shall we.
Monopoly
I have allways loved Monopoly, few times I have played the game for a day in one go with friends and I loved it. How can so simple game keep the interest year after year, when computer games excitement dies after one game.
This has been in my mind many times and I think the reason is, that no matter how many times you play monopoly or chess, it is allways a new game, never the same. You get the interaction with other people, you get the bullshit and laugh. Can computer game achieve this someday? Does network games bring that needed excitement over and over again?
Busy boy tomorrow?
Note to myself
Things to be achieved before new year:
New website

Update comms2 reports
Because I have decided to stay in London over the Christmas holidays, I might as well do some real work. I was suppose to work on my website over the summer, but somehow I only got halfway. Maybe by putting this list up will help me to complete my site.
Remember to nag on me if notting happens over the next few weeks!!!
A la Chihuahua
Apparently Britney Spears ordered 100 pound steak meal for her Chihuahua doggy in Las Vegas. And now the "mastercook" Julian Serrano, who ever he is, complains that he has been insulted, because he weren't told that the meal is for a dog.
Who cares who eats the steak, you just got 100 quid from your bloody steak, so just shut up man!!
Fjord cruise
Now I got an obsession about Fjords. I have wanted to go to Norway for years and do a cruise in the fjords, I havent been thinking about it for a long time until few days ago. It must be amazing feeling to just sit on a boat and watch the mountains go by. Yep, one more thing to the endless list of
'What to do before coming too old and wrinkled'.
Fjord cruise
Skydiving
Diving in Indonesia
Backpack across South America
Climb a mountain
.........
I'll just put it simply; I want to see the whole world
Nipplegate
Independence day is over, so what was the outcome of the newspapers. It was a nipple of a Finnish popstar. She looked good, had a beautiful dress... Unfortunately she had decided to leave her bras home. Result, she broke the etiquette and shows the outline of her nipple. This is what newspapers have talked for the past FOUR days!!!
A country who shares sauna with opposite gender, still get shocked about a nipple. Was the party so boring, that there was nothing else to talk about?
Finnish culture has allways been very open about sexuality. TV even shows men willies at least once a day in some Finnish movie. It's more like a rule than exception. You NEVER see that in US films or anywhere else.
Piece of history saved...for now
"The British Grand Prix will be at Silverstone for the next five years after a deal was signed today between Formula One and the circuit's owners.
The agreement brings to an end months of uncertainty and acrimony between the British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) and Bernie Ecclestone. " The Times
Silverstone is the birth place of Formula 1. It will be a sad day when it will be dropped out of Formula 1 calendar. And I believe it will be, unless it finds new investors. New modern racetracks are opened around the world; hundreds of millions is spend to build these high-tech tracks. I wonder why Silverstone haven't been able to find investors to bring back its glory and give it the needed facelift.
Has England become the back country of racing?
Independence day
Today is the Finnish independence day. The day when whole Finnish population tune their TVs to watch the gala in President castle. The papers for two weeks have had frontpage speculations on whose going and whose going to wear whose designer dress. They have shown all the most horrible dresses from past years, who was the sexiest and who was the most daring....
What a gossip nation we have become, doesn't anyone talk about the day itself, 6.12.1918 we became independent country!! This year there's only 2 Mannerheim knights able to take part to the party. Why not telling about these two knights and what they think about the day.
Unpractical world
Have you ever tried to buy a present online? I just had a look at several places. I need get some Christmas presents for my family. What they say in the websites, make it easy, reach your family far away...But why o why do they insist on putting the BILL in too, WHY do they insist on telling how much the present costs.
Hear me!!! I DO NOT want people to know on how much I have spent on their presents. I want to be a humble guy, I don't want my parents to call and nag on the amount of money I have spend on them.
Happy holidays
House of Flying Daggers
I haven't been in movies for two months. Simply because there haven't been any good ones out. But now there's one coming out, that I have been waiting for quite sometime,
House of Flying Daggers. Directed by Yimou Zhang (Hero). There's going to be surprising turns and sad ending I'm sure. That's makes the Chinese films more appealing, because you never know what happens in the end. The hero usually dies thou, unlike in western films.
One interesting point I saw in the trailer, was the kukri knife they used. I have no idea, why they use this knife in the movie. The knife is used by Gurghas, Nepalese troops. I love the design of the knife.
House of Flying Daggers release date is 26.12, while waiting for it I'll go see Blade: Trinity, never disappointing kick-some-ass vampire movie, I would also like to see Milwaukee Minnesota, comedy, Cannes film award nominated. So many movies in one month.
